We've been to Agra twice now: first in October of 2003, and then again in December 2003.  The Taj Mahal really does live up to the expectations -- one of the most amazing buildings we've ever seen.

The second time we went, we brought our friend Kathy, who was visiting from Cairo.  Six months later, she moved to India, and now she works with us.

The hotel we stayed at at views of the Taj from every room.  Here we are on our balcony.

Agra is more than just the Taj.  This is a building in the Fatehpur Sikri complex, built in 1570.

Here we are in front of the 1625 tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, commonly known as the "Baby Taj."

After the Taj was built, the king's son usurped the crown and locked his dad in the Agra Fort, where he spent the rest of his life.  Because he was such a loving son, he gave the king's cell a nice view of the Taj.  And a big harem.

From Agra Fort, we looked out at the street below and saw an elephant in the street.

The mosque at Fatehpur Sikri is huge, ancient, and still in use.
